Our FSC® Certified Products
Takasho has partnered with the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) to ensure our timber products are sustainably sourced for the benefit of all.
As the leader in sustainable forestry, FSC® is trusted by NGOs, businesses, and consumers worldwide to protect healthy, resilient forests for all, forever.
The FSC® certification system verifies sustainable sourcing of forest products and ecosystem services at every step of the value chain, from forest to consumer.Â
The most visible symbol of certification is the FSC label, which can be found on millions of products and is recognized by 56 per cent* of consumers around the world.Â
Every FSC label is backed by a diverse ecosystem of forest managers, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and others committed to upholding a common set of responsible forestry standards that support:Â
- zero deforestationÂ
- safeguarding of ancient and endangered forestsÂ
- fair wage and work environmentÂ
- biodiversity preservationÂ
- community rights, including the rights of Indigenous Peoples.Â
Most Takasho products are FSC® 100%, but to help explain:
About the different FSC labels
All materials used come from responsibly managed, FSC-certified forests.
Products with the FSC 100% label contribute most directly to our mission to ensure thriving forests for all, forever.
The product is made from 100 per cent recycled materials.
Using recycled material makes the most of precious forest resources and reduces the pressure to harvest more trees.
The product is made with a mixture of materials from FSC-certified forests, recycled materials, and/or FSC-controlled wood.
While controlled wood doesn’t come from FSC-certified forests, it mitigates the risk of the material originating from unacceptable sources.
